Micro-Credentials and Digital Badges
Redlands Community College offers students, faculty, staff and the community the opportunity to earn micro-credentials to enhance their career, add new competencies to their resume, or explore a new field of interest. With micro-credentials, you can quickly gain the expertise needed to thrive in today's competitive job market.
What is a Micro-Credential?
Micro-credentials are short, focused credentials designed to provide specific career critical skills, competencies and knowledge that can be readily transferred to the workplace.
Micro-credentials give you the freedom to learn what you want, without the financial and time commitments of a formal degree. They take less time to earn than a traditional degree and can give you a competitive edge in the workforce. For someone interested in enhancing their skills, changing jobs or even careers, a micro-credential is an effective route to getting ahead in your chosen industry.
What’s a Digital Badge?
Digital badges help you share the skills you have earned and employers to verify those
documented achievements independently. See the image at right of a sample badge and
the information it provides when you share it.
