Before Redlands, Niehues led the USAO Drovers women's basketball program from 2001-2008. Niehues collected 50 wins faster than any other coach in the program’s three decade history. In his second season at USAO, Niehues finished with a 23-14 record and the Drovers first appearance in the NAIA tournament. The next season also ended with a Final Four appearance and 20-win season, a first in the program's history. Prior to his time at USAO, he spent five seasons at his alma mater Southern Nazarene University as a women's assistant coach. During that time, the Crimson Storm posted a 121-22 record and won two national championships. A two-time all-conference player at SNU, Niehues was a three-year starter and eighth in career scoring. Niehues graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration from SNU in 1990 and received his master's degree in education from SNU in 1997. He has also played four years of professional basketball in France and Brazil, as well as two years as a member of the Conoco Oilers exhibition team.

Keith Richardson Jr. | Assistant Coach
Keith Richardson Jr. enters his second season as an assistant coach with the Redlands Community College women’s basketball program after joining the staff in 2025.
Richardson brings 13 years of collegiate coaching experience to Redlands, having coached at various levels on both the women’s and men’s sides. His coaching career began at Weatherford High School, where he served as a volunteer assistant coach in 2012.
His first collegiate coaching opportunity came at the NCAA Division I level at the University of Central Arkansas during the 2013-14 season. Richardson later spent time at Brown Mackie College and the University of Texas Permian Basin before returning to his alma mater, Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
During his tenure at Southwestern Oklahoma State from 2018-2023, Richardson helped guide the Bulldogs to one of the most successful seasons in program history. In 2022, SWOSU captured the Great American Conference Tournament Championship as the No. 7 seed and earned the program’s second-ever appearance in the NCAA Division II Tournament.
Following his time at SWOSU, Richardson joined the Redlands men's basketball program as an assistant coach during the 2023-24 season, working under current head coach José A. Molina Negron. He then continued his coaching career at NCAA Division II Texas A&M University-Kingsville as an assistant men's basketball coach in 2024 before returning to Redlands to join the women's basketball staff in 2025.
Richardson is a graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice in 2010 and a Master’s degree in Sports Management in 2012.
Away from the court, Richardson is the proud father of two daughters, Jaida and Khalyla Richardson.
