Redlands Community College has announced a significant enrollment increase for the Spring 2025 semester, with total headcount exceeding 2,100 students. This represents a 16.1% increase compared to Spring 2024 enrollment figures.
"We are thrilled to see this continued growth in our enrollment numbers," said Redlands President Jena Marr. "This increase not only validates our commitment to accessible, quality education but also positions us to better address critical workforce needs across our state. By expanding our program offerings and enhancing student services, we're creating pathways for students to succeed in high-demand career fields."
The college has implemented several initiatives to improve student success and accessibility. Enhanced student services include more free e-textbooks and course materials in several classes, reducing the financial burden on students while ensuring they have immediate access to essential learning resources.
Redlands has also strategically expanded its academic offerings to align with industry demands. New computer science degrees in cybersecurity and data analytics have been added to the curriculum, while the college continues to grow its drone and business programs. The nursing program has been revamped to address the critical healthcare workforce shortage. These expansions directly support Oklahoma's workforce development priorities.
As one of Oklahoma's top providers of concurrent enrollment opportunities, Redlands enables high school juniors and seniors to earn college credit while still in high school. The concurrent enrollment program, which accounts for 56.2% of the student population, offers accessible pathways for students to accelerate their education and career preparation while reducing the overall cost of their college degree.
"Our concurrent enrollment program exemplifies our commitment to educational access and affordability," Marr explained. "By allowing students to begin their college journey while still in high school, we're helping them build momentum toward degree completion and career readiness."
Additionally, Redlands has strengthened partnerships with several technology centers, allowing students to combine block credit from technical programs with Redlands coursework to earn an Associate in Applied Science degree. These innovative pathways create flexible options for students seeking career-focused education.
