Redlands Community College is seeking candidates to apply for the Director of Resident
Life position. This is a full-time, professional staff position working 40 hours per
week. The salary range for this position is $46,000 to $49,000 per year with excellent
benefits. This position will report to the Executive Vice President. The Director
of Resident Life oversees all aspects of student housing and residential life, including
housing-related student concerns. This role involves managing the Student Housing
Program efficiently while supporting the College’s educational mission. The Director
is also responsible for ensuring fair and consistent enforcement of student life policies,
fostering a campus environment that promotes learning and personal growth.
Responsibilities include:
Manage the total housing operation.
Recruit, select, and provide training for Resident Assistants (RAs).
Oversee annual student housing registration process for new and continuing students.
Work in cooperation with the Director of Athletics and Vice President for Academic
Affairs with any student compliance issues.
Coordinate room changes and the room selection process.
Coordinate apartment opening and closing procedures at the beginning and ending of
semester breaks, and summer housing.
Ensure safe, clean and well-maintained housing services are provided to students;
determine student satisfaction levels with student housing accommodations, amenities,
etc.; and develop strategies to assess and improve student satisfaction in housing.
Work in cooperation with Physical Plant staff to ensure housing facilities are properly
maintained.
Preserve the confidentiality of personal information about students and staff obtained
in the course of employment. FERPA (ex: rosters, keys, student photos and information
in Colleague, etc.).
Enforce residence hall rules and regulations; review and investigate reports of student
misconduct, initiating disciplinary action as warranted; mediate student conflicts
and assist in developing processes for problem/conflict resolution.
Other duties as assigned.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrate initiative (ex: self-starter, actively look for solutions).
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required.

Clery Statement
Redlands Community College is committed to providing a safe place to live, work, study
and visit. Part of this effort includes sharing information regarding the safety and
security of our campuses.
Redlands provides email notifications to all students, faculty and staff when a Clery
Crime occurs in or near Redlands Community College campus or any of its sites. These
notifications are primarily sent if the incident poses an ongoing safety threat as
determined by the President of the College or his designee. The act requires colleges
and universities to make “timely warnings,” known as “Safety Alerts” at Redlands,
to campus community members about specific types of crime if an ongoing threat is
