Director of Upward Bound - Full-time position(s)

Redlands Community College is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Director of Upward Bound position.  This is a full-time, federally funded grant position with excellent benefits. This position oversees all aspects of the Upward Bound program, which is designed to help low-income, first-generation students graduate from high school, prepare for college, and complete postsecondary education. Position reports to the Executive Vice President. The salary range is $53,000 to $59,000 per year based on qualifications and experience. Duties and Responsibilities include: Day-to-day operations of the project; program planning; monitoring; evaluation; compliance with federal guidelines; and preparation of all reports required by the U.S. Department of Education and Redlands Community College. This position is responsible for all aspects of a federal budget and has management oversight of both professional and support staff.  The director serves as liaison between target schools, target communities and the Upward Bound program. This position requires some travel and working nights and weekends for special student events.  Qualifications include: The applicant must hold a Master’s Degree in Education, Behavioral Science or comparable discipline; previous administrative experience in TRIO or similar programs; experience working with disadvantaged populations; be articulate with strong written and verbal communication skills; and have excellent organizational skills. Applicant must be able to ride on school busses with teenagers for long (12 to 16 hours) field trips.  Preference given to applicants with a background similar to the students served in the program. Beef Show Team Coach - Full-time position(s)

Redlands Community College is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Beef Show Team Coach position.  This is a full-time, 10-month, professional staff position with excellent benefits.  This position reports to the Department Head of Agriculture.  Responsibilities include:  Serving as the head coach of the RCC Beef Show Team, maintaining the show cattle herd and the Royse Ranch beef barn, and aiding in the instruction of the Livestock Fitting and Grooming class.  The coach will be responsible for recruiting students for the beef team, selecting livestock shows to exhibit at, booking travel arrangements, traveling with the team members, preparing the show cattle for exhibition, maintaining good records of receipts and expenditures, and serving as a mentor to the team.  They will be expected to maintain public relations and coordinate fundraising activities.  Maintenance of the cattle herd includes, but is not limited to, practicing good animal husbandry, nutrition, herd health, and breeding.  Maintenance of the beef barn includes, but is not limited to, cleanliness, organization, and upkeep.  This position will be expected to maintain a safe environment for our students and visitors.  Qualifications include:  Bachelor’s degree preferred with a major in Agriculture; previous experience in the show cattle industry; possess a valid driver’s license; must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and should not be allergic to animals or animal dander; ability to work with students and producers from diverse backgrounds and life situations; and possess well- developed written and oral communication skills.  To apply:  Interested applicants are required to complete an online employment application and submit a cover letter that specifically addresses your qualifications for the position, a comprehensive resume or CV, copies of college transcripts and three references with names, addresses and phone numbers.  Click here to access the application and upload documentation.  Position is open until filled.
