Job Description

Redlands Community College is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Professor of Nursing/Director of Nursing and Allied Health position.  This is a full-time, tenure track, 12-month position with a salary range of $75,000 to $80,000 per year with excellent benefits. Position will report to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Responsibilities include: Ensure departmental programs meet standards set by Redlands Community College Board of Regents, the President, and accrediting bodies (HLC, OSRHE, OBN, NLN and ACEN) standards, policies, and procedures. Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring efficient use of funds.

Coordinate course schedules, faculty assignments, and workload, collaborating with other department heads and the Schedule Building committee.  Lead curriculum development to ensure alignment with program objectives and professional standards. Collaborate with faculty to implement student learning outcomes and assessment strategies. Teach assigned courses, using innovative instructional methods to maximize student learning and engagement. Mentor faculty and students, contributing to a positive academic experience. Provide leadership in faculty recruitment, professional development, evaluation, and mentoring. Manage specialized facilities, including labs and technical equipment.

Oversee the instruction and clinical operations for the Nursing program. Work closely with the NASNTI-A Grant director to promote nursing education in rural areas of Oklahoma.

Foster partnerships with local high schools, career centers, community organizations, and other higher education institutions.  Lead the Nursing Advisory Council, participate in institutional activities, including Faculty Senate, in-service programs, and student retention initiatives. Promote the mission of the Department, as well as the College as a whole; maintain regular office hours.  Candidates are expected to serve on institutional committees, attend scheduled in-services.

Qualifications include: Master’s degree in Nursing required and prior teaching experience is preferred.  Unencumbered Oklahoma RN license and equivalent of two years full-time practice as an RN. Working knowledge of curriculum development and program review. Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with ACEN & OBN accreditation processes and inherent documentation. Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with local area schools, and others in the community to support educational achievement. Experience in managing and supervising diverse personnel. Familiar with design and implementation of articulation agreements.
