Troxell Steps Up To Plate As New Redlands Head Baseball Coach

Undergraduates at Redlands get to be involved in conducting research. Plus, all classes are taught by the full professor: there are no graduate-student teachers.

Paying for Redlands

A college education at Redlands costs less than the Oklahoma state average for public institutions (based on cost per credit hour). For students planning to attain a four-year degree, completing the first two at Redlands can save you thousands.

Redlands Community College is thrilled to announce the appointment of Trent Troxell as the new head coach of its baseball program. Troxell, who previously served as the assistant baseball coach at Redlands, brings a wealth of experience and a deep connection to the college, making him the ideal candidate to lead the team into a new era.

A graduate of Fort Cobb, Troxell began his baseball journey at Fort Cobb High School before moving on to play at Dodge City Community College. During his time at Dodge City, Troxell made an immediate impact, boasting a .336 batting average in 2014. His exceptional performance earned him a spot at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where he was a key contributor to the team that captured the 2016 Great American Conference (GAC) Championship.

After concluding his playing career, Troxell transitioned into coaching, bringing his deep knowledge of the game to Vernon College in 2021. Serving as the hitting and base running coach, Troxell’s expertise helped propel the team into the top 60 in the nation in batting average and top 30 in stolen bases, showcasing his ability to develop high-performing athletes.

In addition to his on-field success, Troxell is committed to furthering his education and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Sports Administration at SWOSU.

“We are excited that Trent Troxell is stepping into the head coach position,” said Eli Zucksworth, Redlands athletic director. “His impressive background as both a player and coach, combined with his dedication to the sport, makes him the perfect fit to lead our baseball program. We look forward to the success and growth he will bring to our team.”

Troxell expressed his enthusiasm about joining Redlands Community College: “I am honored to take on the role of head baseball coach at Redlands. I am eager to work with the talented student-athletes here and build a program that fosters excellence on and off the field. I love the city of El Reno. There's a unique toughness and work ethic here that I want to instill in the players I bring in.”
