Redlands Hosts Contests

Redlands Community College prepares to host its annual FFA interscholastic contests at the Darlington and Royce Ranch campuses April 19.  Seven different contests will be held at the two locations.

Registration for all events opens at 7 a.m.  Livestock judgers must register in the classroom building at the Royce Ranch Campus five miles north of El Reno.  Registration for crops judging, land judging, farm business quiz, ag communications, food science, and entomology contests will take place at the Darlington Agriculture Hall three miles west of Highway 81.  Students will be directed to contest locations and all contests will start at 8 a.m.  Awards for the contests are sponsored by Ag Youth Magazine.

The livestock judging contest is open to all Oklahoma 4-H and FFA members.  Contestants will be divided into groups based on age.  Each student will judge eight classes and give three sets of reasons.  Awards and lunch for this contest are provided by American Farmers and Ranchers.  Scholarships will also be awarded to top winners.
