Von Tungeln Reappointed to Board

Board of Regents Chair Janie Thompson congratulates Dr. Von TungelnDr. David Von Tungeln was recently sworn in for a second term as a regent during the Redlands Community College Board of Regents meeting. He was appointed by Gov. Mary Fallin in 2016 and was recently reappointed by Gov. Kevin Stitt to serve until April 2030.

“Dr. Von Tungeln has been a tremendous asset to the college for the past nine years, and we look forward to his continued leadership on our board,” said Redlands  President Jena Marr. “His wisdom and experience have been invaluable to our efforts to enhance and expand programs and develop and strengthen partnerships with surrounding businesses and communities.”

A graduate of El Reno High School, Von Tunglen is the second Legacy Regent to serve on the Redlands board. His mother, Donna Von Tungeln, also served on the board. He attended El Reno Junior College before graduation from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1983. For 32 years, he worked at Fort Reno.

“Higher education provides great opportunities for so many Oklahomans, so it is a privilege to work with the Redlands board, administration and faculty to ensure that we are providing the types of courses and programs that are preparing these students for a successful career,” Von Tungeln said.
