Redlands Community College Freezes Tuition for Seventh Year, Expands Scholarships for Adult Learners

In a continuing effort to support students and families facing ongoing economic challenges, the Redlands Community College Board of Regents voted to approve the administration’s recommendation to keep tuition rates and mandatory fees unchanged for the upcoming academic year, marking the seventh consecutive year without an increase.

"At Redlands, we understand the financial pressures that many of our students and their families are facing," said Janie Thompson, chair of the Board of Regents. "It is incredibly important to us to ensure that a college education remains within reach, allowing students to stay on track and achieve their educational goals. Our commitment to fiscal responsibility has enabled us to keep tuition rates steady, reaffirming our dedication to supporting our community and investing in the future success of our students."

In addition to holding tuition flat for all students, Redlands is expanding its support to adult students by offering scholarships to adults who have never taken college classes or those who have some college credit but have not completed a degree. These scholarships aim to encourage adult learners to earn a degree that will expand career opportunities. By providing financial assistance to adult students, the college is furthering its mission to make education accessible to all members of the community, regardless of their educational background. Financial aid is also still available to new and returning students. All students can apply for a tuition waiver, which range from $250 to $1,000. Students can apply year-round for tuition waivers, and selection is based on availability of funds. The application is online at www.redlandscc.edu/paying-redlands/scholarships.

“I am grateful to the board for their unwavering support and commitment to our students," said Redlands President Jena Marr. "Their decision to keep tuition rates unchanged for the seventh consecutive year reflects their dedication to making higher education accessible and affordable. This steadfast support is crucial in helping our students pursue their educational dreams without the added burden of financial strain."
