In Fall 2017, under President Jack Bryant’s leadership, Redlands Community College launched its inaugural women’s soccer season thanks to the generous support and partnership from the City of El Reno and El Reno Public Schools. This month at a gala honoring Bryant on his retirement, the college is launching a fundraising effort to build a soccer field on campus.

“As we looked for ways to honor President Emeritus Jack Bryant after his decade of service as president, we realized that embracing his vision for campus expansion was the perfect choice,” said Redlands President Jena Marr. “It seems only fitting that we honor him by further developing the program he brought to the college.”
The fundraising gala will be held September 28 at the Palace Events Center with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. and dinner and auction beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tickets to the black-tie optional fundraising gala are $100 and can be purchased online. Monetary or auction donations can also be submitted through the site.

The Redlands Community College Foundation is sponsoring dinner, and many individuals and organizations from throughout the area have generously donated items for the silent and live auctions.
Earlier this year, the college purchased several acres west of campus to expand athletic facilities. Proceeds from this event will be used to build a soccer field for the women’s team.

“Since the program began, the soccer team has been practicing on a city soccer field while games have been held at the high school football stadium,” Marr said. “We have appreciated the support and flexibility our city and school partners have shown over the past few years, but we are excited to solidify the sport’s place at Redlands.”
