Scholarships play a vital role in making college a reality for many high school students, and the Redlands Community College Foundation is committed to providing that opportunity by raising funds through its popular Dollars for Scholars event.
The Eighth Annual “Dollars 4 Scholars” event will take place beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5, at Festivities, 220 N. Bickford in El Reno. Tickets are $30 per person and include a meal and $10 free play. Dinner will be sponsored by Fellers, and Festivities will feature a cash bar. News 9’s Lacie Lowry will serve as emcee for the evening.
“Each year the Redlands Community College Foundation provides several scholarship opportunities to our students,” said Redlands President Jack Bryant. “With continued decreases in state funding, it is so encouraging to see the Redlands community step up to fill the gap that could prevent students from achieving their educational goals.”
The event will feature a Casino Night theme with sponsorship opportunities. For $1,000, Black Chip Sponsors receive a corporate table, 16 tickets, logo representation in the event promotion and a social media shout out; for $500, Blue Chip Sponsors receive eight tickets, logo representation in the event promotion, and a social media shout out; and for $350, Red Chip Sponsors receive four tickets, logo representation in the event promotion and a social media shout out.
Donation opportunities are also available for individuals, families and businesses for the silent and live auctions. Money raised at the event will fund student scholarships.
